DEATH OF MRS. SHIPLER. Mrs. Susan SHIPLER, wife of Peter Shipler, died in Batavia Wednesday morning, from Bright’s disease, from which she was a sufferer for a number of years. The deceased was a daughter of Joseph and Mary KENEDY, and was born and raised in Cookstown, Fayette County, Pennsylvania; was married to Peter Shipler July 6, 1842, came to Jefferson County, Iowa, with her husband the same year, and has been a resident of Iowa 43 years. In early girlhood she became a professor of religion and a member of the Free Will Baptist church. After her removal to Iowa, there being no church of that denomination near, she united with the M. E. church. She has led a faithful and devoted Christian life, and was a true wife and mother. She was the mother of seven children, of whom three survive her – a son and two daughters. Deceased was 60 years, 6 months and 15 days old.
