DEATHS

REV. ALVIN S. DOUGHTY

Rev. Alvin S. DOUGHTY, 607 West Monroe street, passed away Saturday evening at 7 o'clock in the Jefferson county hospital following an illness of but a few days. Rev. DOUGHTY was born Feb. 19, 1847, in Jefferson county and died at the age of 83 years, ten months and one day.

The body was taken to the Campbell funeral home where it will lie intate (sic - in state) until the funeral wilch will be held tomorrow afternoon at 1:30 o'clock from the Free Methodist church in charge of Rev. D. C. Eddy. Burial will be made in Evergreen cemetery.

Rev. DOUGHTY is survived by his wife and the following children: Mrs. Mabel DENSEREAN of St. Paul, Minn., and Ira S. DOUGHTY of this city. He also leaves one sister, Mrs. Mary POLSTON of Lenox and one brother Asbury Howard of this city.

State of Iowa, Jefferson County, ss.

To All Whom It May Concern:

Notice is hereby given that an instrument, purporting to be the last Will and Testament of Alvin S. DOUGHTY, Deceased, is now on file in the office of the Clerk of the District Court of Jefferson county, and that Tuesday, January 20, A. D., 1931, at 2 oclock p.m., has been set for proof and final hearing of same.

Witness my hand and the seal of said Court this 26th day of December, 1930.

Note: Buried in Lot 2nd.232. Alvin was married twice, his first wife being Cemantha Cloe STANFORD who died in 1906 and was buried on her parents' lot in Evergreen Cemetery; and second to Prudence A. SMITH WRIGHT, who died in 1945 and was buried with Alvin.
