BATAVIA. Mrs. Elsie May DAY, 78, died at Jefferson County Hospital early this morning. Campbell Funeral Chapel in Batavia. Burial will be in the Batavia Cemetery.

Born Nov. 3, 1893, in Keokuk County, daughter of Jacob & Cora MILLER. She had lived in Batavia area for 54 years. Member Batavia Calvary Bapt. Church. Married Chester DAY who preceded her in death in 1955. She was also preceded in death by a brother.

Survived by one son, Everett of Batavia; seven grandchildren, 13 greatgrandchildren, three sisters: Mrs. Pearl DACE of California; Mrs. Neva SMITH of Douds and Mrs. Alice MITCHELL of Tucson, Ariz.; two brithers, Ralph MILLER of Hedrick and Charles MILLER of Blakesburg.
