The Marion, Kansas Record notes the death of Dr. J. Nelson Bell in that city on the 10th inst. Dr. Bell was a son of Rev. L. G. Bell, the founder of a female seminary in this city many years ago, and a brother-in-law of the late Dr. Jacob L. Myers. He lived in Fairfield several years prior to 1850, when the gold fever took him to the Pacific coast. The greater part of his life had been spent in the mining country of the west. Deceased was here a year or two ago for a few days. His age was 68 years, and he died at the home of his sister, Mrs. King.
