Mrs. Margaret E. SNIDER, 89, longtime resident of this community, died this morning at the Fairfield Convalescent Home. She had been in failing health for several years and seriously ill the past three days. Her home was at 301 W. Van Buren.

Funeral services will be at the Weston Behner Funeral Home on Friday at 2 p.m. Rev. Warren Hendershott will be in charge. Burial will be in the Batavia Cemetery.

Mrs. SNIDER was born Sept. 9, 1878, the daughter of Benjamin and Elizabeth SHAW BURNAUGH. She was married A. B. SMITH on Feb. 17, 1899. On June 24, 1919, she was married to James S. SNIDER who died in January 1951.

Surviving are a son, Harry A. SMITH of Fairfield, five grand-children and ten great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother.

She was a member of the First Methodist Church at Bladensburg.
