NEAL BROWN
Neal BROWN, age 40 years, a former resident of Batavia, died in government service in the Panama cana zone Saturday, according to word received by his mother, Mrs. Emma BROWN, 605 Market street, Burlington. He was a mechanic in the coast guard.
The body will be brought to Batavia, where he was born, for burial, the funeral services to be announced later.
He is survived by his mother and his widow. He had served 27 months overseas during the World war.

Note: Neal appears to be the son of Elijah and Emma BROWN, born July 6, 1890. If so, he was married to a woman named Vera. In any case, Neal was a PFC in the Army (in WWI?) and is buried at the Keokuk National Cemetery in Keokuk, Lee County, Iowa, interred on April 29, 1932.
