BATAVIA. Last rites held today for Harvey Ross BLACK, 71, who died Sat. in Fairfield. Born Oct. 26, 1893, in Wapello County, son of A.J. & Rozeitha BLACK. Spent most of his life in Jefferson County as a farmer, the past 23 yrs. on a farm south of Batavia. Member Methodist Church.

Married Ethel ORMAN Nov. 15, 1914. She survives; also one son, Forest BLACK, Batavia; one grandson, Kenneth; one brother, Ralph BLACK, Ottumwa; and a sister Mrs. Gladys ROEMERMAN, Drakesville. He was preceded in death by a sister and one brother.
