Samuel BLACK, 77, died at his home s.e. of Batavia Sunday July 25. He was born one-half mile from where he passed away and had been a farmer all his life. Burial at Batavia.

Survived by wife Delilah, four daughters, Mrs. Fred GONTERMAN of Eldon, Mrs. Charles WILSON of Fairfield, Mrs. Walter PURDY of Chariton, and Lela at home. Two sons, Everett of Eldon and Cecil of Agency, also survive, as well as one brother, Arch BLACK of Ottumwa. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Mrs. Garlan HOSKINS six months ago.
