Mrs. Mattie Isabelle ARBOGAST, 70, lifetime resident of the Batavia community, died today at her home six miles north of Eldon. Campbell Funeral Chapel in Batavia. Bur. Batavia Cemetery.

Born Oct. 23, 1890, near Batavia, daughter of William and Martha HUTTON WILSON. Spent all her life in Batavia community except four years in Kansas. Lived on farm where she passed away for the past 50 years. Mrs. ARBOGAST had written many poems of personal interest in the community, of friends, relatives and events.

Married Melvin Lee ARBOGAST Apr. 19, 1911; he passed away in 1955. Survived by one daughter, Mrs. Olen MULLIKIN, Batavia; one son Earl Wayne ARBOGAST at home, and two grandsons; 3 sisters: Katie WILSON, Mrs. Olive ANDERSON and Mrs. Laura URFER all of Batavia. and four brothers, Lee and Jerry WILSON of Batavia; Henry WILSON, Libby, Mont., and John H. WILSON, Chicago. Preceded in death by husband, parents, infant son, one sister and four infant brothers.
