OBITUARY

Clarence Peterson, who died at his mother's home Southeast of Salina, April 12, was born in Fairfield, September 12, 1900. He was confirmed in the New Sweden Church, June 18, 1916. He was a lifetime member of the Clara Lutheran Church, Salina, Iowa.

His last summons came without any premonition and in the prime of manhood. The departed had reached the age of 27 years and 7 months. In life he was known as a faithful and obedient son, a kind and loving brother and a Christian friend.

Those who survive him are his widowed mother, Mrs. Maria Catharina Peterson, one brother, Earl Henry Peterson, Ottawa, Ill; five sisters, namely, Mrs. R.C. Berg, Pleasant Plain, Mrs. Frank Berg, Fairfield; Misses Hellen, Elsie and Anna Peterson, at home; three aunts, Namely, Mrs. Lovina Larson, North Dakota, Mrs. A.P. Erickson, Des Moines, Mrs. Etta Conbaugh, Fairfield, and one niece Maria Berg, and other relatives and many friends at Salina and vicinity.

The funeral services were held April 14 at 12 o'clock at the home and 2 p.m. at the Salina Lutheran church. Interment in the Salina Lutheran cemetery. Rev. Anton Linder officiated. Although road conditions were quite unfavorable, a very great number of people were in attendance, taxing the church to its utmost capacity. In the church the large choir sang three hymns. The floral tribute was large.
