Andrew A.(sic. - D.) SAMUELSON DIES NEAR GLASGOW

Andrew D. SAMUELSON, one of the older residents of Jefferson county, died yesterday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at his home two miles northwest of
Glasgow. His death was due to dropsey, from which he has been suffering for several years.

Mr. SAMUELSON was born in Sweden on May 4, 1850, and is the last one of a family of four. In early manhood he was united in marriage to Miss Johanna PETERSON, who is left to mourn his death. To them were born the following
children: Andrew G., of Salem; Frank, at home; Mrs. Anna LARSON of Sheldon, North Dakota; Mrs. Emma GRIFFITH of Eldon, and John W. of this city.

The funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at two o'clock from the Upland Swedish Lutheran Church near Lockridge, in charge of Rev. Behner, and the remains will be interred in the cemetery near there.

LIFE OF ANDREW SAMUELSON

Andrew SAMUELSON, a native of Sweden, was born on May 4th, 1850, and died at this late home near Glasgow, Iowa, November 5th, 1917, aged 67 years, 6 months and one day.

He emigrated to the United States in the year 1869. He was united in marriage to Miss Johnanna PETERSON at Fairfield, Iowa, the 24th day of February, 1873. To this union were born 6 children: Carl August preceding him in death October, 1875.

He leaves to mourn his loss a bereaved wife, three sons and two daughters: Andrew G., of Salem, Ia.; Mrs. Anna M. LARSON, of Sheldon, N. Dak.; John William, of Fairfield; Mrs. Emma J. GRIFFITTS (sic. GRIFFITH), of Eldon, Ia., and Frank E. who resides at home; 18 grandchildren, many relatives and friends.

Mr. SAMUELSON united with the Swedish Lutheran church in his native country.

He was a kind husband and father, honest and upright with his fellowmen. His faith was in Christ.

The funeral services were held at the Upland church Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock and interment made at the Upland cemetery. Rev. F. C. Behner conducted the services.
