R. Walter Carlson, 70, resident of Jefferson County, died Nov 21 in Jefferson County Hospital.

Born 25 Oct 1889 in Packwood, the sone of Peter and Christina (Swenson) Carlson; married Nellie May Hill 24 Feb 1915 in Ottumwa. She died 13 Mar 1929, and buried at New Sweden Methodist Cemetery.

Survivors: Three sons, Walter E. of Fairfield; Vincent of Tipton, Iowa, and Norris of Lockridge; 15 grandchildren, on sister Mrs. Addie Aronson of Fairfield.

Member of New Sweden Lutheran Church. Lifelong resident of Jefferson County, most of it near Lockridge.
