William 'Dutch' Haaland

William "Dutch" Haaland of Bremerton, WA died on December 15, 2005 in Port Ludlow surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on January 4, 1948 to Erling S. Haaland and Mary A (Garban) Haaland in Renton, WA. Dutch attended O'Dea High School in Seattle, WA and went on to attend the University of Washington before he joined the US Navy.

He married Fran (Matano) Cuciti in July 1980 in San Diego, CA. In 2001 Dutch and Fran moved to Fairfield where Dutch accepted a position as a creative supervisor for hawthorne direct. Dutch and Fran were married for 25 years before she passed away in June 2005 in Fairfield, IA.

Mr. Haaland enjoyed watching movies, reading movie scripts,, golfing, and fishing.

He is survived by his son RJ Haaland and his fiancee Theresa of Bremerton, WA; brothers Charles Haaland and his wife Sharon of Seattle, Richard Haaland and his wife Dianne of Hillsboro, OR; sisters Mary Clear and her husband Jim of Redmond, WA, Cheryl O'Neil and her husband Jim of Port Ludlow, WA; God daughter Becky Schrift and her husband Jerry of Kent, WA; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Jefferson County 834 Sheridan, Port Townsend, and WA 98368.

A memorial service will be held on January 4, 2006 in Bremerton, WA and inurnment will take place at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Bremerton, WA.

Dutch's son RJ Haaland, and the entire family wish to express their sincere appreciation to the community of Fairfield for the compassion and support they extended not only to Dutch, but also to Dutch's wife, Fran, who passed away in Fairfield on June 17, 2005.

In particular, the Haaland family wishes to thank Dutch's friends and co-workers at hawthorne direct, its president, Tim Hawthorne, Fran's cousin Charles Viola and other friends and neighbors who supported them.
