JAMES. Hester Snook, dau. of Jacob & Sarah, born Johnson Co., Penn., in Nov. 1828, died May 9 1926. Came with parents to Jefferson County when 16. They located on a farm near Fairfield which at that time was only a small village of eight families. Married Wm. James Feb 14 1856. 13 children. Survived by Theodore of Centralia, Washington; Jennie of Witten, S. D.; Wm. of Batavia; Geo. of Selma; Bell of Lincoln, Neb.; Ed of LaPlata, Mo.; Sadie of Beckwith; Weldy of Newton; Rola of Des Moines, and Orval. Three preceded her in death, Fred, Peter, and Addie Steel. Survived by 39 grandchildren, 27 greatgrandchildren and one sister Mrs. Catherine Richardson of Fairfield, Iowa...Buried beside husband in Dunkard Cemetery.
