Death of Mrs. HUGHES.

Mrs. Hyla A. HUGHES died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Frank GILMER, in this city Tuesday morning. She had been ill for some time, and her condition was considered critical. Her maiden name was SHERRILL, and she was born at Campbellsville, Ken., January 11th, 1827, and most of her life was spent there. Her husband died in 1888 (sic - 1889). Mrs. HUGHES came to this city in 1901, and has since made it her home. She had a limited acquaintance here, but those who knew her held her in the highest esteem. Mrs. HUGHES reared three daughters, but Mrs. GILMER is the one now living. Funeral services will be held at the GILMER home tomorrow afternoon at 2:30.
