E. H. HUFFORD DEAD
Well Known Fairfield Young Man Passed Away This Morning.

The death of Edward H. HUFFORD which occurred this morning at six o'clock at the home of his sister, Mrs. W. W. ISRAEL, on East Burlington street, is a shock to the many friends of the young man. Although he had been seriously ill for several weeks it was not generally known that his life was dispaired of (sic). After some weeks of intense suffering death released the spirit and body.

Several years ago Mr. HUFFORD was a member of the Collins & Hufford drug company here. Later he was engaged in the business in Lockridge.

The funeral will be held tomorrow (Saturday) afternoon at 2:30 from the ISRAEL home. Rev. Jones, of Burlington, former pastor of the Episcopal church here, will conduct the last services.

Mr. HUFFORD was about 36 years of age and was the son of the late Dr. and Mrs. Rollin H. HUFFORD, of this city. He is survived by one sister, Mrs. W. W. ISRAEL, and a number of friends here. He returned to Fairfield from Chicago only about four weeks ago.

Edward H. HUFFORD whose death was announced in this paper Friday, was a brother of Mrs. W. W. ISRAEL. He had been ill for several weeks. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon conducted by Rev. Jones.

No source is mentioned at this point for the given name being Edwin, other than a listing of Evergreen burials published by late genealogy researcher Verda Baird, who has him listed as "EDWIN/or/EDWARD". He was married to Margaret A. PREWITT in Lee Co., IA, in 1892, and divorced from her somtime between 1900 and 1905 per census returns. When and where she died and was buried is not known at the time of this posting.
