Martha HOLLANDER

FAIRFIELD -- Martha Rose HOLLANDER, 85, of 609 S. 33rd St. died at 8:50 a.m. March 30, 2002, at her home.

She was born April 22, 1916, in Sheboygan Falls, Wis., to Ralph and Cora SUMMERS PARRISH. She married Wilbur "Bill" HOLLANDER Aug. 29, 1936, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. He died Oct. 20, 1997.

She has lived in Fairfield since 1919. She graduated from Fairfield High School and attended Iowa State College for one year. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and joined First Lutheran Church this past year She was a member of the Lionels and Lady Elks. She had been making her home with her son, Jim HOLLANDER. She enjoyed gardening and needlework.

She is survived by a daughter, Kay GROUT of Mason City; sons Dick of Bowling Green, Ky., and Jim of Fairfield; 10 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Vernon PARRISH of Fairfield.

She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents.

A celebration of life service will begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Raymond Funeral Home, Fairfield, the Rev. Marvin Robeck officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. A reception at First Lutheran Church will follow the interment service.

Family visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be grandsons Greg HOLLANDER, Doug and Brad GROUT and David and Rob HOLLANDER and friend Larry Diers.

Honorary pallbearers will be granddaughters Ann HANSEN, Sue BRADY, Chrissy SNYDER, Cory MATHAHS and Julie OTT and friend Julius Diers.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to First Lutheran Church or Crossroads Hospice of Southeast Iowa.
