ONCE COUNTY BOARD MEMBER DIES SUNDAY

Death came yesterday morning to a life-long resident of the community and a former member of the Jeffeson county board of supervisors.

He is Everett A. HOLLANDER, 72, who passed away Sunday morning at 3:45 a.m. at the Jefferson county hospital. He had been in failing health the past year and entered the hospital September 30, 1950.

HOLLANDER served two full terms on the Jefferson county board of supervisors and one part-term. He was first eleccted to the post to fill the unexpired term of the late Fred Peebler, taking the oath of office on December 5, 1938.

He was re-elected to serve full terms beginning January 1, 1940, and January 1, 1943. He retired from the office on December 31, 1945.

Last rites will be Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. at the Hoskins funeral home with Rev. Richard Engstrom in charge. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.

Everett A. HOLLANDER was born April 28, 1878, in Jefferson county, Iowa, the son of the late Gust and Matilda SWANSON HOLLANDER. He lived his entire life in this county.

On November 14, 1906, he was united in marriage to Clemmence JOHNSON at Salina. HOLLANDER farmed most of his life and moved to Fairfield four years ago. His home is at 309 W. Stone street. His wife preceded him in death on February 8, 1945.

He was a member of the Clara Lutheran church at Salina and B.P.O.E. No. 1192 at Fairfield.

HOLLANDER is survived by the following: one daughter, Mrs. Glen BUSH, Fairfield; brothers and sisters, Mrs. Nellie LAURENCE, St. Paul; Frank W. HOLLANDER, Rockford, Illinois; Paul C. HOLLANDER, Salina; and Mrs. Eva LESHER, Fairfield.

NOTICE OF PROBATE OF WILL IN DISTRICT COURT

State of Iowa,
Jefferson County, ss.

To All Whom It May Concern:

YOU ARE HERE NOTIFIED, That an instrument of writing purporting to be the last Will and Testament of Everett A. HOLLANDER, deceased, dated April 18, 1949, having been this day filed, opened and read, Monday the 23rd day of October, 1950, is fixed for hearing proof of same at the Court House in Fairfield, Iowa, before the District Court of said County, or the Clerk of said Court, and at 9:30 o'clock A.M., of the day above mentioned all persons interested are hereby notified and required to appear, and show cause, if any they have, why said instrument should not be probated and allowed as and for the last Will and Testament of said deceased.

Dated at Fairfield, Iowa, October 12, 1950.

Note: Buried in Lot 4th.002 with wife Mary Clemmence JOHNSON HOLLANDER. His obituary notes he was born on April 28th, however his Death Certificate notes he was born April 29th. There is no Birth Certificate available to corroborate, as they were not required until July of 1880.
