Page Five, Column 4A. HOLLANDER DIES AT HOME
Alvin A. HOLLANDER, 64, life-time resident of Jefferson county, passed away at 10:05 p.m. Saturday at his home, 601 S. Third street. He had been in failing health for the past 10 years.
Last rites were held this afternoon at 2:30 p.m. at the Hoskins funeral home with Dr. E. A. Piper in charge. Burial was in Evergreen cemetery.
Alvin Arthur HOLLANDER was born September 26, 1883, near Salina in Jefferson county, the son of the late John and Ellen HILLMAN HOLLANDER. He lived his entire life in the county, devoting most of his life to farming and stock raising, and moved to Fairfield three months ago. He was a member of the Salina Lutheran church.
Mr. HOLLANDER was united in marriage March 31, 1909, to Maud LARSON. The wedding took place in the bride's home at Salina.
Besides his wife, Mr. HOLLANDER is survived by the following children: Mrs. Kenneth EMMACK, Fairfield; Mrs. Oscar SWENSON, Rock Island; Mrs. John QUACKENBUSH, Hollywood; Glenn, Fairfield; Mrs. Julius DIERS, East Pleasant Plain; and Clair, Fairfield. He is also survived by two brothers, Elmer, Birmingham; Ephraim, Fairfield; two sisters, Mrs. Marie STALLMAN, Fort Dodge; and Mrs. Chester HICKENBOTTOM, Fairfield; four granddaughters and one grandson.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Theron, who died in 1933.

Jefferson County, ss.To All Whom It May Concern:
You Are Hereby Notified, That an instrument of writing purporting to be the last Will and Testament of Alvin A. HOLLANDER, Deceased dated 23rd of July, 1942 having been this day filed, open and read, Monday the 16th day of August, 1948, is fixed for hearing proof of same at the Court House in Fairfield, Iowa, before the District Court of said County, or the Clerk of said Court, and at 9:30 o'clock A.M., of the day above mentioned all persons interested are hereby notified and required to appear, and show cause, if any they have, why said instrument should not be probated and allowed as and for the last Will and Testament of said deceased.
