Word was received this morning that Mrs. Leland HOLGATE had passed away at 11:30 p.m. last night in a Moline, Ill. hospital where she had been a patient the past few weeks.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete pending word from a daughter in Seattle, Wash. Burial will be in Muscatine, it was stated.

Funeral services will be held Thursday morning at 10 a.m. in Muscatine at the First Baptist church for Mrs. Leland R. HOLGATE who passed away Friday at the Moline public hospital following an illness of five months' duration. The body will be brought to Fairfield for short grave services in Evergreen cemetery at 2 p.m. Thursday afternoon. The Rev. A. P. Keast, pastor of the local Methodist church will be in charge.
Mrs. Veda MILLER HOLGATE, 2129 Frisco Drive, Davenport, Ia., the former Veda Beatrice MAPLES, was born in Meyer, Ill. on January 16, 1899 and was educated there.
On Jan. 17, 1942, she was married to Leland R. HOLGATE, son of Mr. and Mrs. D. M. HOLGATE of west of Fairfield in Kahoka, Mo., and resided in Davenport since that time.
She is survived by her husband; three daughters, Mrs. Morgan McDANNEL of Rock Island; Mrs. Francis AUGUSTOSKI of Seattle, Wash., and Miss Betty Joyce MILLER at home; two sons , John A. MILLER of the U. S. navy and Harold MILLER at home; her mother, Mrs Myrtle BARNES of Muscatine, Ia.; her father, Ed MAPLES of Worland, Wyo., three sisters, Mrs. C. N. NEIBERGER of Canton, Ill., Mrs. Betty SORELLS of East St. Louis, Ill. and Mrs. Fred SCHNEIDER of West Liberty, Ia., and four brothers, Carl MAPLES of La Grange, Mo.; Don MAPLES of Monmouth, Ill.; Jack MAPLES of California, and Robert CROSE of the U. S. coast guard.
