MRS. J. HISEL DIED AT 9:15 P.M.
Had Been Ill For Two Weeks; Funeral Services Saturday Afternoon

Martha HISEL died this morning at 9:15 o'clock at the home of her son, A. W. HISEL, four miles southeast of the city, after a two weeks illness.

Mrs. HISEL was born January 12, 1953 an don (sic) February 16, 1869, she was married to Joseph HISEL, who died Augist 24, 1914 (sic).

She leaves the following children, Mrs. Lillian Gertrude SINN, Charles and Arthur of this city.

Funeral services for Mrs. Martha HISEL will be held Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from the Methodist church in charge of Dr. C. L. Tennant. Interment will be made in the Evergreen cemetery.

Mrs. Martha HISEL

Martha J. HOWARD, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John HOWARD, was born in this county, January 12, 1853, and died at her home four miles southeast of Fairfield, April 30, 1925.

Her parents were pioneers and she had spent nearly her entire life in this county and close to where she was born.

She was united in marriage to Joseph HISEL, Feb. 16, 1869, to which union there were born three children, Charles E. and Arthur W., this place and Mrs, Lillian Gertrude SIN (sic) of Denver, Colorado.

Joseph HISEL died August 24, 1914, and there survive her the three children, five grandchildren and one great granddaughter, also 3 brothers and one sister: S. A. HOWARD of Fairfield, Lewis HOWARD of Chicago and Mrs. Mary E. POLSTON of Lenox, Ia., and the following half-brothers: John HOWARD of Topeka, Kas., and Thomas HOWARD of Tpeka, Kansas (sic), and Rev. S. A. DOUGHTY of Fairfield. All of which relatives were present except Thomas.

She united with the Methodist Episcopal church when young and had been life-long member of the church always present when so that she could get to the services.

She was a true mother, an effectionate sister and a true friend.

HISEL FUNERAL HELD SATURDAY AFTERNOON

Services for Mrs. Martha HISEL were held at the Methodist church Saturday at 2:30 p.m., Rev. Tennant conducting the last rites. A quartet composed of Mrs. C. M. Graham, Mrs. Frank Pierson, and the Messrs Paul Coleson and T. T. Stuckey sang "Face To Face," "Lead Kindly Light," and "Asleep In Jesus."

The pall bearers were M. B. Humphrey, Samuel King, David Blough, Henry Grebe, William and Robert McWhirter. She was laid to rest in Evergreen cemetery.
