LEWIS HISEL DIED YESTERDAY
Funeral Tomorrow Morning At 10 O'clock from St. Mary's Catholic Church

Lewis (sic - Louis) HISEL passed away last evening at 7:15 oclock at St. Joseph's hospita (sic) in Ottumwa where he has been a patient for the past 6 months (note: in Wapello Co., IA).

Funeral services will be held tomorrow morning from St. Mary's Catholic church in this city at 10 oclock. Interment will be made in Evergreen cemetery.

Mr. HISEL was in his eightieth year and was born in Luxenbourg, Germany of French parentage. He came to this country when 5 years old and settled in Jefferson county with his parents and has made his home on different farms in the county and for the past 25 years has lived in this city, at one time being engaged in the coal business. His wife passed away 5 years ago (sic - in 1923).

He is survived by the following children: Mrs. C. A. POOL of Ottumwa who accompanied the body to this city last night. Mrs. E. C. HEAP of Monrovia, California and C. E. HISEL of this city.

The body will lie in state at the home, 700 West Washington from 4 oclock this afternoon until 9:30 oclock tomorrow morning.

Mr. HISEL is the last member of his family.

LAST RITES FOR LEWIS HISEL HELD
Rev. Richard Maher of Ottumwa in Charge; Interment At Evergreen

Funeral services for Lewis HISEL who passed away Tuesday evening at St. Joseph's hospital in Ottumwa, were held this morning at 10 oclock from St. Mary's Catholic church in charge of Rev. Richard Maher of Ottumwa St. Mary's Catholic church.

The following men served as pallbearers: A. W. HISEL, J. E. PRINCE, Charles HISEL, John KELLER, Gaston DROZ and Lewis HOSETTE. Interment was made in Evergreen cemetery.

LOUIS HISEL

Louis HISEL, son of Antone and Suzanne HISEL, was born in Luxembourg, Oct. 1, 1847 and died at the St. Joseph hospital in Ottumwa, Iowa, June 7, 1927 at 7:15 p.m. When he was five years of age the family came to America and located in Jefferson county near Glasgow, where his early life was spent. He was married to Marinda KESTER, who preceded him in death in 1923 and to this union four children were born: Jerome, who died in 1907 (sic - 1906); Mrs. E. C. HEAP of Monrovia, Calif.; Mrs. C. V. POOL, of Ottumwa and C. E. HISEL of Fairfield.

Mr. HISEL was a farmer for a number of years and later engaged in the coal business at Fairfield. For the past year he had been in failing health and was brought to the St. Joseph hospital, Dec. 5, 1926, where he remained a patient until his death.

Funeral services were held June 9 at 9:30 a.m. at the late residence in Fairfield, Iowa and at 10 oclock at the St. Mary's Catholic church conducted by the Rev. Father R. H. Maher of Ottumwa; six nephews officiating as pall bearers. Interment was made in Evergreen cemetery.
