CORYDON, Ia. (AP)--The will of Jessie E. HINKLE, 64, longtime Iowa school teacher, was on file here Friday and in addition to bequests for education and other purposes it sets up a $1,000 fund to provide for her numerous cats, dogs and birds.
Miss HINKLE died last week at an Ottumwa hospital. She left no immediate survivors.
The will, after specific bequests totaling $7,000, specifies that the residue of her estate should to into a trust fund with the income to be used annually to provide college scholarships each year for a graduate of Corydon high school and a graduate of Sewal high school.
Miss HINKLE had taught at Corydon for 13 years and at Sewal and in neighboring rural districts for many years before that.
C. W. Elson, Corydon, is attorney for the estate, the valuation of which had not been made pending arrival of Mrs. Hazel OGDEN, Lima, Ohio, cousin of Miss HINKLE who was named as executrix. He said it would include at least two farms and two residential properties, however.
A $5,000 bequst to the "new" hospital at Ottumwa was made for furnishing a room as a memorial to Miss HINKLE's parents, Dr. and Mrs. George HINKLE, and to her two sisters, all of whom preceded her in death. The hospital was not otherwise identified.
The Wayne County Historical Society was bequeathed $1,000 for a memorial room to her father in its projected building.
Miss HINKLE also provided that her home at Harvard be used as a home for old age pensioners under direction of Mrs. Naomi Seward of Harvard as caretaker. Mrs. Seward was bequeathed $1,000 with which to care for Miss HINKLE's pets.
A spokesman at the home in Harvard declined to enumerate the number of pets except to say that there were "several."

Corydon, Ia. (INS) The will of Miss Jessie HINKLE today revealed she left nearly her entire estate to charitable causes. Amount of the estate will not be known until an inventory is made.
Outstanding provisions of the will is for college scholarships each year to a graduate of Sewal, Iowa, high school and a gruduate (sic) of Corydon high school. Residue of the estate after a specific bequeaths will go into a trust fund, the income from which will provide scholarships.

The new Ottumwa hospital received a $5,000 bequest in the will of Miss Jessie E. HINKLE, who also left $1,000 for the care of her cats, dogs and birds. The will has been filed for probate at Corydon.
Miss HINKLE, 64, died last week in the Ottumwa hospital. She left the bequest to the hospital for furnishing a room as a memorial to her parents, Mr. and Mrs. George HINKLE, and her two sisters.
She left $1,000 to the Wayne County Historical Society, and directed that the residue of her estate be used to provide college scholarships each year for a graduate of Corydon high school and a graduate of Sewal high school.
