Services For Mac HILL To Be Tuesday

Funeral services for Mac HILL, 78 (sic - 67), former Fairfield resident who died in Willow Springs, Mo., on Friday, will be held at the Hoskins funeral home in charge of the Rev. William Yingling. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.

Mr. HILL had move to Willow Springs about one and a half years ago. He had been in ill health for several years.

Surviving are his wife, Grace MARTIN HILL; one daughter, Mrs. Grace TEETER of Cedar Rapids; two brothers, Frank and Raymond HILL of near Fairfield.

MACK ELMER HILL

Mack Elmer, son of William and Eliza Jane HILL, was born in Cambridge, Ohio, February 10th, 1872 and departed this life at his home in Willow Springs, Mo. at 9:30 p.m. February 9, 1940.

At the age of six years he came with his parents to southeastern Iowa, where he lived the greater part of his life.

He was married to Julia FREEMAN, December 14, 1893. To this union was born five children, two dying in infancy.

The remaining children are Frank and Raymond of Fairfield, Iowa and Mrs. Clarence TEETER of Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Mr. HILL is also survived by six grandchildren and two living brothers, William of Fairfield and Alva of Pleasant Valley, Iowa.

Mrs. HILL died in October, 1928.

For three years Raymond and wife lived with Mr. HILL, until he re-married March 12, 1932 to Grace MARTIN, who survives him.

Mr. HILL was well-known in this vicinity and leavs a considerable number of relatives and friends to mourn his loss.

His neighbors in the Ozarks where he lived the last year of his life loved the good old man and did all they could to make his last days as pleasant and easy as they could.

Mr. HILL did not belong to any church, but he did believe firmly in his God and in the continued life of the spirit and the death of the body.

Funeral services were held at the Hoskins Funeral Home on Tuesday morning, February 13 at 10:30 a.m. in charge of Rev. William Yingling, Presbyterian minister. The songs sung were "Going Down the Valley" and "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere." Burial was in Evergreen cemetery.

The pallbearers were nephews of Mr. HILL: Walter, Robert, George, Ivy, Ed and Roy HILL.
