Ellsworth HILL Taken In Death

Ellsworth E. HILL, 54, baker at Parsons College for the past five years, died at 3:05 p.m. Monday at the Jefferson County Hospital where he had been a patient for the past ten days. His death followed an extended illness.

Last rites will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Weston Behner Funeral Home with the Rev. Jack R. Steele officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.

The family previously lived at Clinton before moving to Fairfield five years ago. The family home is on rural route 3 southwest of Fairfield. He had been a baker for 30 years and his wife is switchboard operator at Parsons College.

Ellsworth E. HILL was born March 30, 1912, at Rock Falls, Ill., the son of Elmer and Bessie COURTLAND HILL. He was married to Lucille DEWEY on Feb. 17, 1934. He was a member of the Grace Episcopal Church in Clinton and a member of the Jefferson County Saddle Club.

In addition to his wife he is survived by four children: Mrs. Martin TULLIO, Van Nuys, Calif.; Mrs. Donald FELLER, Clinton; Richard L. HILL, Commanche, Iowa; and John David HILL, Corpus Christie, Texas.

Other survivors include 13 grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Harold MARTZAHN, Clinton; Mrs. Helen McARDLE, Clinton; and Mrs. LeRoy MOHR, Welton, Iowa; and one brother, William A. HILL, Minneapolis, Minn.

He was preceded in death by a sister.
