Front Page, Column 8FRANK HIGBY DIES TODAY
Widely-known resident succumbs after two weeks' illnessFrank H. HIGBY, 82, resident of Fairfield for 54 years, passed away this morning about 3 o'clock, at his home, 500 South Fifth St. He had been seriously ill for the past two weeks.
The body was taken to the Weston Behner funeral home. Funeral arrangements have not yet been completed.
Mr. HIGBY was born April 22, 1859 near Plymouth, Hancock county, Illinois. He lived on a farm near Plymouth, and also near Glasgow, Iowa. He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. O. HIGBY. On September 6, 1883, he was united in marriage to Miss Rosetta THURBER.
For 27 years he was employed at Louden's as a patternmaker, and served as foreman of the pattern room for over ten years. He was also employed in various other large factories in Iowa and Illinois during his lifetime. He retired in October, 1929.
Mr. HIGBY was a member of the Christian church, and also a member of the I. O. O. F. No. 36.
He is survived by his wife, Rosetta; two daughters, Mrs. Jay BUSBY of Ames and Mrs. R. R. SCHROEDER of Marengo, and one son, Harry M. HIGBY of Mt. Pleasant. Two children, Hallie and Raymond HIGBY died in infancy. Grandchildren surviving are Rosalie Mae, Robert, Wayne, Myron and Sheila Rae HIGBY, Dwight, Keith, Vivian, Rosalie Ann and Bonnie Mae BUSBY.

Funeral services for Frank H. HIGBY, 82, long time resident of Fairfield will be held Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. from the Weston Behner funeral home. Rev. S. P. Williamson will officiate. Burial will be in the Evergreen cemetery.
Mr. HIGBY passed away early yesterday morning after a two weeks serious illness at his home 500 S. Fifth St.

Page FIVE, Column 4BUSBYs Come For HIGBY Last Rites
Mr. and Mrs. J. L. BUSBY and children of Ames, will arrive today from Fort Collins, Colo. where they have all, with exception of a small daughter, been enrolled in summer school courses at the college.
The family was called here by the death of Mrs. BUSBY's father, F. H. HIGBY, whose funeral will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2:30 o'clock in the Behner Funeral Home. Mrs. BUSBY is the former Helen HIGBY.
Mrs. R. R. SCHROEDER of Marengo, the only other daughter, has been here helping to care for her father for the past week. Mr. SCHROEDER arrived yesterday afternoon as did the HIGBY's only son, Harry of Mt. Pleasant.

Page TWO, Column 6RELATIVES RETURN AFTER HIGBY FUNERAL
Mrs. R. R. SCHROEDER returned Saturday to her home in Marengo after having been called here by the serious illness and subsequent death of her father F. H. HIGBY. She was accompanied by Mrs. Jay BUSBY also a daughter of the late Mr. HIGBY and Mrs. HIGBY who with her daughter Bonnie Mae are returning to their home in Ames.
Mr. BUSBY and the other children enrolled in summer school at Fort Collins, Colo. will return to Ames at the close of the season.

Frank H. HIGBY was born April 22, 1859 near Plymouth, Hancock county, Ill., the son of O. and Sarah HUFF HIGBY. He spent his early youth there on a farm.
On September 6, 1883 at Macomb, Ill., he was married to Rosetta THURBER. After living in Illinois a short time, he and his wife moved to a farm near Glasgow, Ia. One year later, they moved to Fairfield where they have lived for 54 years.
For 27 years, Mr. HIGBY was employed at Louden's as patternmaker and served as foreman of the pattern room for over ten years. He was also employed in other factories in Iowa and Illinois during his lifetime.
In 1891 he became a member of the Christian church. He was an active member of the I. O. O. F. lodge for over 40 years. Whatever task he undertook, he did well.
Two sisters and one brother preceded him in death. A kind and loving husband and father, he is survived by his wife, Rosetta; one son, Harry M. HIGBY of Mt. Pleasant, Ia.; two daughters, Mrs. Helen BUSBY of Ames, Ia., and Mrs. Rosalie SCHROEDER of Marengo, Ia. Grandchildren surviving are Rosalie Mae, Robert, Wayne, Myron, and Sheila Rae HIGBY and Dwight, Keith, Vivian, Rosalie Ann, and Bonnie Mae BUSBY.
Funeral services were held from the Behner funeral home last Wednesday, conducted by S. P. Williamson, minister of the First Christian church. The hymns "Abide With Me", "Near To The Heart of God" and "No Night There" were sung by Mrs. Williamson and Mrs. Norvell Switzer with Mrs. Wm. M. Stever at the piano. Pallbearers were Jake Stokesberry, C. L. Six, Norvell Switzer, Grover Johnson Harold Catcott and Clyde Dille. The remains were interred in Evergreen cemetery.
