Mrs. HIDY, 79, Taken In Death

BATAVIA, Ia.--Mrs. Charles HIDY, 79, was found dead Tuesday about 6:30 p.m. at her farm home five miles northeast of Batavia.

Mrs. HIDY, a lifetime resident of Jefferson county, lived alone. She was found by her son, Robert HIDY, Batavia, when he visited the farm.

Dr. C. W. Watson, Jefferson county medical examiner, said Mrs. HIDY died of natural causes. He placed the time of her death at 8 a.m. Monday.

Services will be held Friday at 1:30 p.m. at the Weston Behner Funeral home in charge of Dr. C. R. Douglass. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.

Mrs. HIDY was born Oct. 27, 1884, the daughter of Hiram and Elizabeth SCHLIEF STARK. She was married to Charles HIDY March 6, 1907. He preceded her in death Jan. 6 (sic - Jan. 5th), 1959.

Mrs. HIDY was a member of the Presbyterian church. In addition to her son, she is survived by one daughter, Mrs. George A. HARDEN, Fairfield; three grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Also surviving are the following sisters and brothers: Mrs. Elva SIX and Mrs. Jess LOUTH, both of Fairfield; Loren STARK, Fairfield; and Vester STARK, Batavia. Two brothers and one sister are deceased.

Family Attends HIDY Funeral

BATAVIA, Ia. -- Mr. and Mrs. Ralph HIDY of Lake City, Mich., and Mrs. Dora DAILEY of Fairfield visited Mrs. HIDY and Mrs. DAILEY's brother, Mr. and Mrs. Russell WEBB on Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. HIDY were called here because of the death of Mrs. Charles HIDY whose funeral was Friday. ...

... Mr. and Mrs. Harold HIDY of Colorado Springs, Colo., are visiting relatives here. They were called here to attend the funeral of Mrs. Charles HIDY Friday.

Mrs. DAILEY Is Dinner Hostess

Mrs. J. B. DAILEY, 911 S. Sixth was hostess at dinner yesterday to the following guests: her sisters, Mrs. Ralph HIDY and Mr. HIDY of Lake City, Mich., and Mrs. Vernon GLOTFELTY and Mr. GLOTFELTY of Libertyville; her daughter Mrs. Don METZ and Mr. METZ and sons of east of Fairfield; and Mrs. Minnie WEBB and Roy of Ottumwa.

The HIDYs left this morning for their home.

Mr. and Mrs. HIDY and Mrs. and Mrs. Robert HIDY were Sunday evening guests in the home of Ralph and Robert HIDY's sister, Mrs. George HARDEN and Mr. HARDEN, 910 South Sixth.
