BATAVIA -- Leslie L. HICKENBOTTOM, 74, of rural Batavia, died at 9 p.m. Monday, Aug. 8, 1994, at Jefferson County Hospital.
The service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at First Christian Church with the Rev. Robert Gates officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Family visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Behner Funeral Home. A memorial has been established to the long-term care unit at Jefferson County Hospital.
HICKENBOTTOM was born Feb. 9, 1920, at Glendale in Jefferson County, the son of Chester and Florence HOLLANDER HICKENBOTTOM. He married Dorothy Mae SMITH on Sept. 29, 1940, at First Christian Church in Fairfield. She died June 20, 1993. He was a farmer all of his life until retirement, farming in Locust Grove Township, Jefferson County. He was a member of First Christian Church and the National Farmers Organization.
Surviving are a son, Fred L. of Libertyville; two daughters, Mary Sue WILSON of Batavia, Jane Ann NICHOLAS of Gilbert; three grandchildren; nine stepgrandchildren; 23 stepgreat-grandchildren; two step-great-great-grandchildren; three brothers, Virgil and John, both of Batavia, Hugh of Fairfield; and a sister, Frances MARTIN of Fairfield. His parents, and two brothers, Marshall and Vern, preceded him in death.

YOU ARE HEREBY NOTIFIED THAT ON THE 15TH DAY OF AUGUST, 1994, THE LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT OF LESLIE L. HICKENBOTTOM, DECEASED, BEARING DATE OF THE 27TH DAY OF JANUARY, 1993, WAS ADMITTED TO PROBATE IN THE ABOVE NAMED COURT AND THAT FRED L. HICKENBOTTOM WAS APPOINTED EXECUTOR OF THE ESTATE.
