Graveside services for LeRoy H. HESTON, 87, native of Fairfield, will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday in Evergreen Cemetery. The Rev. Ed Parker will officiate and services will be in charge of the Behner Funeral Home. Military rites will be conducted.
HESTON died at 8:20 p.m. Tuesday at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Knoxville where he had been a resident since 1924 (note: in Marion Co., IA).
LeRoy H. HESTON was born Jan. 18, 1896, in Fairfield. He was the son of Charles H. and Sarah O. AMISS HESTON. He worked as a self-employed construction worker and served with the U.S. Army during World War I.
Survivors include two sisters, Nellie SOURS and Edith CASE, and a brother, Floyd HESTON, all of Davenport; and a brother-in-law, Tom BAGBY, Oskaloosa.
