ROBERT "BOB" JOSEPH KASKA
Fairfield

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Robert "Bob" Joseph KASKA, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Born on May 24, 1950, Bob lived a life filled with love, service, and dedication to his family and his country.

Bob was the eldest of ten children, born to Ardell and Lyola KASKA. He learned the value of hard work early in life, a trait that would define him throughout his years. As a young man, he answered the call of duty and served his country honorably in the United States Army, spending 18 months in Korea. His time in the military only deepened his sense of responsibility and commitment, qualities that he carried into every aspect of his life.

On February 4th, 1978, Bob & Chris (CORTESIO) were married in Christ at St. Anthony Roman Catholic Church in Rathbun, IA. Together, they raised four children: Eve (married to Chuck VANNOY), Ryan (married to Diana) with their children Erik & Mackenzie, Jason (married to Kylee) with their children Braxton & Lucan, and Olivia (married to Jeremy CLARK) with their children Caroline, Jameson, Gabriel & Elijah. Bob's legacy lives on in his eight grandchildren, who brought him immense happiness. He's survived by his nine siblings.

After his service, Bob returned to his roots and dedicated his life to famring, a passion that he pursued with great pride and joy. He was a farmer to his core, a steward of the earth, and a man who found deep satisfaction in the simple, enduring practices of tending the land. Bob was an imposing figure, yet those who knew him best knew a gentle, kind, and loving soul. His presence was a constant source of strength and support, and he will be deeply missed by all.

A Rosary will be held at Cranston Family Funeral Home, 2805 W Burlington Ave, Fairfield, Iowa, at 4:30 PM on Thursday, August 15th. Visitation will follow at the same location from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary Catholic Church, 3100 W Madison Ave, Fairfield, Iowa, on Friday, August 16th at 10:30 AM with Father Ross Epping officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in Fairfield, IA immediately following. Memorial contributions in Bob's honor may be directed to the St. Mary Catholic Church Preschool or to St. Mary Catholic Church. Friends may leave online condolences at www.cranstonfamilyfuneralhome.com.
