Galen Leroy Kaska, 70, of Bettendorf, formerly of Fairfield, died Monday, Oct. 24, 2005, in Bettendorf.

A Mass and services were held Oct. 28 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in East Pleasant Plain.

Mr. Kaska was born Feb. 22, 1935, in East Pleasant Plain, the son of Frank and Helen Zaharris Kaska.

Mr. Kaska served in the Army after World War II with the occupational forces in Germany. He later had a trucking business in eastern Iowa.

Mr. Kaska is survived by 11 brothers and sisters, Marian Pohlit of Loveland, Colo., Ardell Kaska of Fairfield, Marcella Greiner of Washington, Iowa, Clarabelle Durian of Wellman, Walter of Morrison, Colo., Cletus Kaska of West Liberty, Lawrence Kaska of Letts, Ronald Kaska of Mount Pleasant, Ernest Kaska of Brighton, Colo., Kay Swain of Sarasota, Fla., and Connie Staebell of Denver, Colo.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Merle.
