Bob E. GILLASPIE was born on May 31, 1933, to Raymond and Louise BELL GILLASPIE. His life was a testament to the enduring strength of love, family, and faith, qualities that he embodied until his final moments. Bob attended country school before graduating from West Chester High School in 1951. He married the love of his life, Joy BAUER, on September 4, 1952. Their union was not only a partnership in matrimony but also in the stewardship of their land. Together with Joy, Bob spent over four decades as a devoted farmer near Batavia, nurturing both crops and family alike. After laying down his plow in 1989, Bob and Joy continued to cultivate a different kind of growth by helping to build churches through their affiliation with Laborers in Christ for over 15 years, contributing to the spiritual foundations of communities across Central and Western United States.

Bob's hobbies reflected his character. A craftsman at heart, his woodworking skills were showcased in creations for the Immanuel Lutheran Church. He enjoyed a good Western movie, especially starring John Wayne. Bob had a passion for reading and often found solace and wisdom within the pages of the Bible. Bob had a servant's heart volunteering at both the Bargain Box and The Well in Fairfield. He was always eager to extend a helping hand to those in need.

Bob is survived by his wife of 71 years, Joy GILLASPIE; their children, Cindy (Mike) SCEARCY of Fairfield, IA, and Wes (Ann) GILLASPIE of Frankenmuth, MI; his grandchildren, Duston, Becky, Ben (Amy), Beth (Drew), Erik (Hannah), and David (Jocelyn); step grandchildren, Chris (Catrina), Amber (Jim), and Derek (Jennifer); as well as his cherished great-grandchildren. His brother Harold (Marjean) GILLASPIE, daughter-in-law Jeri, and numerous extended family and friends also survive him.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Steve GILLASPIE.
