Services Wednesday Morning at Ten O'clock at First Presbyterian Church
Mrs. Lena HEALY, sister of John LIMING, superintendent of the county home, died at Ottumwa Saturday at 6 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the First Presbyterian church here at 10 o'clock Wednesday morning.
Lena Grace LIMING-HEALY, daughter of C. C. and Drucilla LIMING, was born near Pittsburgh, Van Buren County, Iowa, October 9, 1867 (sic - 1868). When a small child she came with her parents to Fairfield. Hhere (sic) she grew to womanhood and it was Fairfield that she called home.
Hers has been a most useful life, given over to the service of others. She seemed especially endowed with the ability to minister to others and her ready smile and kindness to both old and young brought her an unusually large circle of friends.
She spent several years of her life in caring for the unfortunate people at the state hospital for the insane at Mt. Pleasant; the state insane hospital at Hastings, Nebraska, the state feeble minded institute at Glenwood and various county homes in the state.
She was assisting tmeporarily (sic) in the Wapello county home when she was suddenly stricken last Friday evening with paralysis and never rallied, passing from this earth Saturday evening, November 5th about six o'clock.
She is survived by an only sister Mrs Harry E. LAKE of Reading, Mass. and three brothers, John M. LIMING of this city; C. C. LIMING of Kansas City and F. O. LIMING of Chicago, all of whom will be here for the funeral services.
She was a member of George Strong Corps No. 21, Woman's Relief corps of this city and the members of this organization will attend the last service in a body.
