Life-long Resident of Jefferson County; Funeral Arrangements Not Made
Mrs. W. C. HAWK died at three oclock this afternoon at her home at 308 West Burlington street after several months illness. Funeral arrangements are not completed.
Mrs. HAWK was 82 years old and has been a life-long resident of this county. She was born in Walnut township, later moving to Fairfield. Her husband, Carl HAWK, died several years ago. She is survived by one sister, Mrs. Lottie LOWENBERG of Ottumwa and one brother Fred MESSER of Des Moines. The following nieces and nephews living in and near Fairfield also survive: Mrs. Y. S. KNERR, Mrs. Bernard DIERS, Mrs. Charles CLARK, Mrs. Randall GREEN, Arthur, John, Fred Robert and Ralph MESSER.

To all whom it may concern:
Notice is hereby given that an instrument, purporting to be the last Will and Testament of Louisa HAWK, Deceased, is now on file in the office of the Clerk of the District Court of Jefferson county, and that Tuesday, May 1st, A. D., 1928, at 2 oclock p.m., it being the 2nd day of the April Term, 1928 of said court, has been set for proof and final hearing of same.
Witness my hand and the seal of said Court this 5th day of April, 1928.

Louisa MESSER, daughter of George and Magdalene MESSER was born in Davaria, Germany on Feb. 16th, 1846.
In 1855 she came to America with her parents who settled on a farm about eight miles northeast of Fairfield, Iowa.
At the age of sixteen she was confirmed in the Lutheran church of Germanville, Iowa where she remained a faithful member until 1902 when, upon removing to Fairfield, she had her membership transfered to the Lutheran church of that city.
On March 27th, 1868 she was united in marriage to W' C. HAWK (sic) of Richwoods who preceeded her in death on April 7th, 1926.
Mr. and Mrs. HAWK were very much devoted to each other, having only one child born to them who died in infancy.
Mrs. HAWK closed her eyes for her last sleep here on earth on Tuesday afternoon April 3rd, 1928 and thus finished a life of 82 years, 1 month and 18 days of active usefulness.
She is survived by one sister Mrs Charlotte LOWENBURG (sic) of Ottumwa and one brother Fred MESSER of Des Moines. Also a number of nephews and nieces and a large circle of friends.
