W. E. HARTMAN Dies Suddenly

William E. HARTMAN, long-time Fairfield contractor and builder, passed away about 12:20 a.m. this morning at his home, 610 South D street.

Although he had been in failing health and quite ill at times for the past several months his death was sudden and unexpected this morning.

Last rites will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. (CDT) at the Weston Behner funeral home with the Rev. J. Roland Crandall in charge. Burial will be in the Evergreen cemetery.

William E. HARTMAN, 78, was born Dec. 12, 1882, at Germanville, Iowa, the son of George and Maria FRICK HARTMAN. He spent his entire life in this community and was a carpenter and builder until his health failed him.

He was married to Rhoda Grace COREY on Sept. 21, 1904. She passed away Feb. 6, 1907. On Oct. 7, 1920, he was married to Ava Dell (sic - Ava D. SHOEMAKER) at Ottumwa. She survives.

Other survivors include the following children: Taylor HARTMAN, La Mesa, Calif.; Richard HARTMAN, Lansing, Mich.; and Mrs. Felix AUGSPURGER, Fairfield.

He is also survived by seven grandchildren, one great grandchild.

HARTMAN was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister.

NOTICE OF PROBATE OF WILL IN DISTRICT COURT

State Of Iowa
Jefferson County, ss.

To All Whom It May Concern:

You Are Hereby Notified, That an instrument of writing purporting to be the last Will and Tesament of William E. HARTMAN, deceased, dated November 12, 1953 having been this day filed, opened and read, Wednesday the 24th day of May 1961 is fixed for hearing proof of same at the Court House in Fairfield, Iowa, before the District Court of said County, or the Clerk of said Court; and at 9:30 o'clock a.m. of the day above mentioned all persons interested are hereby notified and required to appear, and show cause if any they have, why said instrument should not be probated and allowed as and for the last Will and Testament of said deceased.
