Ava HARTMAN, 89, former Fairfield resident, died at 9 p.m. Sunday at the Fountain West Health Care Center in West Des Moines (note: in Polk Co., IA).
The casket is at the Behner Funeral Home where services are pending.

Services for Ava D. HARTMAN, 89, former resident of Fairfield, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Behner Funeral Home. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery. The Rev. Ed Smagge of Des Moines will officiate.
Family visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
She died at 9 p.m. Sunday at the Fountain West Health Center in West Des Moines where she had been a resident since September, 1976.
Ava D. HARTMAN was born March 5, 1982 (sic - 1892), in Batavia. She was the daughter of William S. and Norma Jane CLARK SHOEMAKER. Her marriage to William Edward HARTMAN Oct. 7, 1920, in Ottumwa. He died May 6, 1961.
Mrs. HARTMAN had made her home in Fairfield since 1920 and was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the Philathea Class.
Survivors include one son, Richard D. HARTMAN, Lansing, Mich.; a daughter, Drothy D. AUGSPURGER, Des Moines; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren and a sister, Wilda YOUNG, Oklahoma City, Okla.
She was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
