HARRIS RITES NEXT TUESDAY

Charlie HARRIS, former resident of Batavia who moved to Fairfield three years ago, passed away last night about 5:35 p.m. at his home, 412 North B street. He was 72 years of age at the time of his death.

Mr. HARRIS had been in failing health for the past five years, and seriously ill the past year.

Last rites will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Hoskins funeral home with Rev. S. P. Williamson in charge. Burial wil be in Evergreen cemetery.

Charlie HARRIS was born January 22, 1876 at Batavia, the son of the late Jason and Sarah M. HART HARRIS. He was united in marriage August 24, 1908, at Bladensburg, Iowa, to Mary E. FISHER, who survives.

Mr. HARRIS served as a member of the school board at Batavia for several years. He built and operated the Harris Tourist camp at Batavia for many years before he sold the business and moved to Fairfield three years ago. He was a member of the Bladensburg Christian church.

Besides his wife, Mr. HARRIS is survived by the following children: Mrs. Harlan ANDERSON, Fairfield; Carl, Oak Lawn, Illinois; Mrs. Francis CUNDY, Fairfield; Mrs. M. M. HITCHCOCK, North English; Ross, Detroit; Ernest, Cannon Beach, Oregon; Millard, Stephens, Arkansas; and Mary Louise, Minneapolis, Minnesota.

He is also survived by nine grandchildren; two brothers, R. O. HARRIS, Cole Camp, Missouri, and J. E. HARRIS, Batavia; one sister, Mrs. Stella SUMNER, Ottumwa.

He was preceded in death by two children and one brother.

NOTICE OF PROBATE OF WILL IN DISTRICT COURT

State of Iowa,
Jefferson County, ss.

To All Whom It May Concern:

You Are Hereby Notified That an instrument of writing purporting to be the last Will and Testament of Charlie HARRIS, Deceased, dated January 30, 1941, having been this day filed, open and read, Monday the 17th day of May, 1948, is fixed for hearing proof of same at the Court House in Fairfield, Iowa, before the District Court of said County, or the Clerk of said Court, and at 9:30 o'clock A. M. of the day above mentioned all persons interested are hereby notified and required to appear and show cause, if any they have, why said instrument should not be probated and allowed as and for the last Will and Testament of said deceased.

Dated at Fairfield, Iowa, April 19, 1948.
