D. C. HARPER, a son in law of Mrs. oseph (sic) HUDGELL of Fairfield, passed away in Des Moines Saturday night (note: in Polk Co., IA). Funeral services were held in Des Moines today at 3:00 o'lcock (sic). The body will arrive in Fairfield Tuesday noon and will be taken to Evergreen cemetery for burial. Mr. HARPER formerly made his home in Fairfield.

David Clinton HARPER was born in Henry County, Iowa, Oct. 26, 1861, and died at his home in Des Moines, Iowa, May 14, 1922 aged 60 years, 6 months, 18 days. He grew to manhood in Henry County near Salem and lived for a time near Fairfield.
February 26, 1891 he was married to Sadie HUDGELL. To them was born one child, a daughter, Mrs. Edith FRYE of Phoenix, Arizona. After the passing away of his wife he later, on Sept. 7, 1904 was married to Mrs. Ada VAUGHT at Fairfield, Iowa. They made their home for the greater part of the time at Lucas, Iowa, moving to Des Moines about five years ago.
In August, 1912 he was taken into membership in the Methodist church at Lucas, and lived according to his light in that faith since.
He leaves as survivors, his wife, Mrs. Ada HARPER, of 1442 W. 31th street (sic), Des Moines, Iowa, and two step chilrren (sic), Harold VAUGHT and Willa VAUGHT. Also 2 brothers and 4 sisters, living at distant points in the United States. He has been in failing health for more than ten years, but died rather unexpectedly.
Burial services will be held and interment at Fairfield, Iowa.--X.
