Albert L. HANSHAW

Albert L. HANSHAW, 76, of Chillicothe, died at 6:40 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 20, 1994, at his home (note: in Wapello Co., IA).

The service will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Reece Funeral Home in Ottumwa with the Rev. Barry Stewart officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery at Fairfield. Visitation is open at the funeral home with the family present from 7 to 8:30 tonight. The family requests memorials be made to the family.

HANSHAW was born March 25, 1918, in Fairfield, the son of Carl and Mabel McMURRAY HANSHAW. He married Inez PICKERING on June 29, 1938. She died Jan. 23, 1981. On Oct. 4, 1981, he married Josephine TROXEL. A resident of Chillicothe since 1981, he had owned Hanshaw Plumbing Shop and Hanshaw TV Sales and Service in Pleasant Plain, Richland, Wayland and Mount Pleasant. He also had been an employee of the Wapello County Sheriff's Department. He attended the Albia Road Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife; two daughters, Janet CROSBY of Pleasant Plain, Carma PRINGLE of Brighton; three sons, Jim of Towanda, Ill., Jerry of Salem, Eugene of Pleasant Plain; 17 grandchildren; 17 step-grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; three half-sisters, Mary LEE of Des Moines, Josephine NORTON of Linden and Betty ENDERLEE of Davenport. A son, Larry; a half-brother, Jack FRAZIER; and a stepson, George TROXEL, preceded him in death.
