Stroke Fatal To Mrs. HANNA

May DAVIES HANNA, well known Fairfield resident, died Sunday morning at the Jefferson county hospital after she had been found lying on the front steps of her home the evening before.

She apparently suffered a stroke late Saturday afternoon at her home, 310 W. Broadway, where she made her home with her niece, Ruth RIDER. She was found by a neighbor, Mrs. Tom Staves.

Mrs. HANNA was taken to the hospital about 5 p.m. Saturday and passed away at 4 a.m. Sunday.

Last rites will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Hoskins funeral home with the Rev. G. H Myeyers in charge. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.

May DAVIES HANNA, 69, was born May 28, 1883, in Blackhawk township, the daughter of the late Thomas and Jessie ROSE DAVIES.

She was united in marriage to John A. HANNA in 1913. The wedding took place in Fairfield. She had attended Iowa State Teachers college at Cedar Falls, was a member of the D.A.R. and the Baptist church where she was an active worker. Her husband passed away July 7, 1944.

She is survived by one sister, Mrs. W. B. PICKEN, Fairfield; one niece, Ruth RIDER, Fairfield; and a nephew, R. R. RIDER, also of Fairfield.
