MRS. HAMILTON DIES AT HOME IN BATAVIA

Funeral on Thursday for former resident of Fairfield

Mrs. G. W. HAMILTON, 64, resident of Fairfield for 20 years, passed away at her home near Batavia about 12:20 o'clock yesterday afternoon. She had been in poor health for several years, and seriously ill for three weeks.

Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock, from the Hoskins Funeral Home. Rev. S. P. Williamson will be in charge of the services. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.

Mrs. Mary Alice HAMILTON was born December 25, 1876, in Illinois. With her huband, G. W. HAMILTON, she moved to Fairfield from Bedford, Iowa, in 1921. Last spring they moved to Batavia from a farm near Fairfield.

Surviving her are her husband, and five children, Mrs. Harry COOP, Milo HAMILTON, Howard HAMILTON, Mrs. Albert MROGENSKI, all of Fairfield and Lloyd HAMILTON of Camp Claiborne, Louisiana. Also surviving are six grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Roy FINDLEY and Mrs. John BARTON of Shenandoah, and Mrs. Andy COCHRAN of Pocatello, Idaho; and one uncle, Thomas BEARDSLEY of Fremont. One brother, Edgar McINTIRE, preceded her in death October 17, 1933. Several nieces and nephews survive.

Mrs. Mary Alice HAMILTON

Mary Alice McINTIRE HAMILTON, daughter of Newton and Rebecca McINTIRE was born near Lomax, Illinois, Dec. 25, 1876 and passed away at her home in Batavia, Ia. June 10, 1941, age 64 years, 5 months and 16 days.

When she was only a few weeks old the family moved to a farm near Shenandoah, Iowa, where she grew to womanhood. On November 25th., 1896 she was united in marriage to George W. HAMILTON and to this union were born five children. They resided in Taylor County, Iowa, until in 1920 they moved to Jefferson county locating near Fairfield and lived in that vicinity until March, 1st of this year when they moved to Batavia.

She united with the Methodist church when a girl and was a member of the Pleasant Grove church north of Fairfield at the time of her passing.

Her life was one of kindliness, gentleness and sincerity, being a most devoted wife and a loving mother.

Surviving are her husband, two daughters, Mrs. Harry COOP and Mrs. Albert MROGENSKI, three sons, Milo M. and Howard G. all of Fairfield and Lloyd W. of Camp Claiborne, La., and three sisters, Mrs. Roy FINLEY and Mrs. J. H. BARTON of Shenandoah, Iowa and Mrs. A. W. CORUM of Pocatello, Idaho. One uncle, Thomas J. BEARDSLEY of Fremont. Five grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and many friends also survive. One brother, Edgar, preceded her in death, October 17, 1933.

Funeral services were held at the Hoskins Funeral Home at 2 o'clock Thursday June 12th by Rev. S. P. Williamson. "The Old Rugged Cross' and 'God Will Take Care of You,' were sung by Mr. and Mrs. W. B. Rogers, accompanied at the piano by Miss Reva Patten.

Pallbearers were, E. C. Flinspach., E. A. Stoner, W. H. Schiedel C. C. Dana, J. L. Davison and J. H. Summers. Interment was in Evergreen cemetery.
