DEATH CLAIMS G. W. HAMILTON

Last rites will be Monday afternoon for George W. HAMILTON, well known resident of Fairfield who passed away at 10 p.m. last night at his home, 600 West Broadway.

The services will be at 2 p.m. at the Monger funeral home in charge of Rev. William Smith. Burial will be in Fairfield (sic - Evergreen) cemetery.

HAMILTON had been in poor health since suffering a stroke in September, 1949. He suffered a second stroke which caused his death yesterday evening.

George W. HAMILTON, 75, was born June 15, 1876, in Page county, Iowa, son of the late Joseph and Nancy SOLLARS HAMILTON. He was reared and educated near Shenandoah and Bedford, Iowa, and moved to a farm north of Fairfield in 1920.

He was united in marriage on November 25, 1896, to Mary Alice McINTIRE. The wedding took place at Shenandoah. The couple lived on a farm in that community for several years before moving to Jefferson county.

After the death of his wife in 1941, HAMILTON moved to Fairfield the following year. He was a member of the Pleasant Grove Methodist church.

He is survived by two daughters and three sons: Mrs. Mabel COOP, Mrs. Fern MROGENSKI, Milo M., Lloyd and Howard, all of Fairfield. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and one great grandchild, and one brother, Ross HAMILTON, Clearfield, Iowa.
