Page 2, Column 4... It is our sad duty to chronicle the death of Miss Ida B. GREENWOOD, which occurred on the morning of the 10th inst. Miss Ida was an estimable young lady, twenty-one years of age. Awhile before her death she chose Rev. Tracy, Baptist preacher of Marysville, to conduct her funeral services; also the text from which he was to preach: "That whosoever believeth in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotton Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." St. John iii:15-16. Her remains were interred in the new cemetery at Fairfield, on Sunday, March 11th. She leaves scores of friends to mourn her loss.
Death steals on us with noiseless tread;
No place, no prayer delivers us;
From midst of life, unfinished plan,
With sudden hand it severs us;
And ready, or not ready --no delay,
Forth to our Judge's lair we must away.Radamanthus.
