Janet Kay PARSONS, 80, of Fairfield, passed away peacefully, November 6, 2023 at her home.

A visitation for family and friends will be 12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m. Friday, November 10, 2023 at First Lutheran Church in Fairfield. A Memorial Service will follow at 1:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to Salina Cemetery or First Lutheran Church. Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield is assisting the family with arrangements.

Janet was born April 22, 1943 the daughter of Fred and Doris (NELSON) ANDERSON in Fairfield, Iowa. She was a 1961 graduate of Fairfield High School. Janet married Stanley Delmar PARSONS, October 22, 1961. He preceded her in death January 2, 2015.

Throughout her career, Janet forked for JC Penney, Wal-Mart, and two insurance agencies in Fairfield. She was the Executive Secretary for Grinnell Mutual Insurance.

Janet enjoyed sewing, cooking, playing in card clubs with her friends, and had a love for music. She cherished her time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Those left to honor her memory include Michelle (Keith) KOCOUR of Fairfield, Michael PARSONS of Phoenix, Arizona, and David (Marilou) PARSONS of Keosauqua; grandchildren, Heidi (Jeremy) GAETA, Clint PARSONS, Cassy (Cody) GUFFEY, Jessen (Natalie) KOCOUR, Sabrina (Brian COTTRELL) PARSONS, Monroe PARSONS, and Chandler PARSONS; great-grandchildren, Rome and Isabella GAETA, and Violet KOCOUR; and brother, Gary ANDERSON of Brighton.

In addition to her husband, Stanley, she was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Keith ANDERSON; and sister, Marcene FLEENER.
