Life-long Jefferson county resident dies after brief illness
Henry GRABY, 74, life long resident of Jefferson county died at 2:10 o'clock this morning at the Jefferson county hospital after a serious illness of two weeks. Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at two o'clock at the First Methodist church and will be conducted by Dr. A. P. Keast, the pastor. The interment will take place in Evergreen cemetery. The body will lie in state from one o'clock until the hour of the service.
Mr. GRABY was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ludwig GRABY and was born January 12, 1869 near Lockridge. He was married in 1896 to Miss Pattie RUSSELL who has preceded him in death. Mr. GRABY was a member of the First Methodist church and was prominently known throughout the country.
Surviving are two daughters Mrs. Elmer ECKLUND who resides near this city and Mrs. Donald IRWIN of Hanover, Ill, and one son Rex of this city. There are seven grandchildren, Robert and Glenn ECKLUND, Merlin and Jack GRABY, Dale and Gail IRWIN (note: only six are mentioned here).
The body was taken to the Behner funeral home.
