MRS. PRESTON GORDON DIED IN SPOKANE

Former Fairfield resident dies in hospital after long illness

Mrs. Preston L. GORDON, 69, former Fairfield resident, passed away early yesterday in a hospital in Spokane, Washington, according to word received here by relatives. Mrs. GORDON had been in poor health for a number of years.

Mr. GORDON is a patient in the same hospital, and is reported to be critically ill.

No funeral arrangements have been completed as yet.

Mrs. GORDON, the former Minnie FLINSPACH, was born October 27, 1871 in the Richwoods vicinity, the daughter of Lorenz and Caroline FLINSPACH. She was united in marriage on December 27, 1894, to Preston L. GORDON, and they made their home in Fairfield for over ten years. Mr. GORDON was engaged in the jewelry business in Fairfield.

In December, 1907, the GORDONs moved to Spokane, Wash., where they have made their home since. Surviving Mrs. GORDON beside her husband are three brothers and two sisters, G. A. FLINSPACH, Ed C. FLINSPACH, Frank FLINSPACH, Mrs. Tom THOMPSON of Burlington and Mrs. Alex GORDON of Bennington, Neb.

Mr. GORDON has two sisters who reside in Fairfield, Mrs. Amos FOOTE and Mrs. Thomas CRAWFORD and a number of nieces and nephews. He also has two brothers, Robert GORDON of Mankato, Kansas and Alex GORDON of Bennington, Neb.

Mrs. P. L. GORDON Services To Be Held On Tuesday

Services for Mrs. Preston L. GORDON, former Fairfield resident who passed away in a Spokane, Wash., hospital on Wednesday, will be held on Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Hoskins Funeral Home. Rev. William R. Yingling will be in charge.

The body will arrive on the Rock Island at 4:30 Monday afternoon.

Funeral Services Held Tuesday For Mrs. P. L. GORDON

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon for Mrs. Preston L. GORDON, former Fairfield resident. Services were at the Hoskins funeral home, in charge of Rev. William R. Yingling. Miss Cora Ball sang "Abide With Me", and "Safe in the Arms of Jesus", accompanied at the piano by Mrs. E. G. Linder, who also played before and after the service.

Pallbearers were Roy GORDON, Ed Allender, Arthur Louden, Fred Kann, Wade FLINSPACH and Charles FLINSPACH. Burial was in Evergreen cemetery.

Among the relatives from out of town who attended the services were Mr. and Mrs. Alex GORDON, Mr. and Mrs. Roy GORDON and daughter Jeanette, all of Bennington, Neb.; and Mrs. Tom THOMPSON of Burlington.

Mrs. GORDON was formerly Minnie FLINSPACH, the youngest daughter of the late Lorenz and Caroline FLINSPACH, born in Richwoods community northeast of Fairfield on October 27, 1871. She attended public schools in this community, and was active in church circles.

On December 27, 1894, she was united in marriage to Preston L. GORDON. After their marriage they spent one year on the GORDON farm, and then moved to Rockford, Ill., where Mr. GORDON studied the jewelry trade. A few years later they returned to Fairfield, and Mr. GORDON purchased a jewelry store here. They left Fairfield for Spokane, Wash., in 1905, and had made their home there since that time.

Mrs. GORDON passed away at a Spokane hospital on October 30. Her husband, who survives her, is now critically ill in the same hospital.
