Page FIVE, Column 3FUNERAL FOR JAS. S. GOODSON HERE THIS AFTERNOON
Funeral services are being held this afternoon at the Hoskins Funeral Home for James S. GOODSON, 84, a former resident of Birmingham and Fairfield who died Saturday night in Des Moines at the home of his daughter Mrs. G. L. CRAFF (note: in Polk Co., IA). The services are in charge of Dr. U. S. Smith, and burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.
His wife preceded him in death in 1917, and he leaves two sons, Ed of Toledo, O., and William of Kirksville, Mo., also four daughters Mrs. CRAFF, at whose home he died, Mrs. Carl STENTZ of Kansas City, Mo., Mrs. Madge EGAN of Des Moines, and Mrs. Josephine SIMMONS of Kansas City.
Mr. GOODSON was for many years in the grocery business at Birmingham and the family reared in that community. During his ageing years he retired from business and after the death of his wife made his home with his children at one time being a resident of this city. He had a large circle of friends who admired him for his kindly disposition and sterling character.
