Death takes G. GODWIN

Glenn W. GODWIN, 51, 903 N. Twelfth Street, died suddenly at 5 a.m. Sunday at University Hospital in Iowa City (note: in Johnson Co., IA). He had been in failing health for 1½ years and seriously ill the past week.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Behner Funeral Home with the Rev. James Battey officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

Family visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Glenn W. GODWIN was born March 20, 1930, in Jefferson County. He was the son of Warren and Bernice COOP GODWIN. He was married to Ruth D. KELLER Feb. 17, 1961, in Washington.

He had lived his entire life in the Fairfield Community and was employed at Fairfield Aluminum Castings Co. for 15 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church.

Survivors include his widow and father; one son Wesley 15, two daughters, Gail 13 and Mary 10, all at home, and a brother, Rex GODWIN and a sister, Delores BRADLEY both of Fairfield.

He was preceded in death by his mother.

CARD OF THANKS

We, the family of Glenn GODWIN, want to express our deep appreciation to everyone who sent flowers, those who brought food, sent memorials, and those who visited. Thanks also for the support of our neighbors, friends, and relatives during the illness, hospitalization, and loss of our loved one. A special thanks to Falco, Pastor James Battey, Florence Patton, and the ladies of the First Baptist church for the lovely luncheon. Also to Behners and Dr. Watson. God bless you all.

Mrs. KELLY visits

PACKWOOD -- Evelyn KELLY of Newton was a recent visitor in the Russell CHAMBERS home. Mrs. KELLY and the CHAMBERSes attended rites for Glenn GODWIN, a cousin, Sept. 16 at the Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield along with other relatives.

The CHAMBERSes' grandchildren, Kori Jo and Samantha Faye ALLISON visited them while their parents, Jerry and Kathy ALLISON attended the annual Morton Builders picnic at the Gene Buch farm.
