Mrs. NISS and Mrs. WENDT are nieces of C. J. GILLY, who is very ill at his home 500 North Main street.

C. J. GILLY, 75, DIES TODAY AT HOME IN CITY

Funeral Services will Be Monday at First M. E. Church

C. J. GILLY passed away, after an illness of several months, at his home at 500 North Main st. at 12:05 Saturday morning, July 27.

The funeral services will be held Monday morning at 10:00 from the Methodist Episcopal church. Services will be in charge of Dr. U. S. Smith and Dr. W. F. Rex. Interment will be in Evergreen cemet ry (sic).

Born near Barrington, in Cook county, Illinois on January 13, 1860, he was 75 years of age. He is survived by his wife, one son Louis of Pasadena, Calif., two daughters Alethea and Mrs. Ralph H. MUNRO and three grandchildren, Charl s (sic) GILLY, Roberta and Dorothy MUNRO, all of this city. All were present at his bedside.

He is also survived by three brothers, Daniel and John of Elgin, Ill., and Henry of Barrington, Ill., and three sisters, Caroline, Mrs. Anna HARTING and Mrs. Matilda RIEKE, all of Barrington.

OBITUARY

CHARLES J GILLY

Charles J. GILLY, born January 13,1860, (sic) on a farm near Barrington, Cook county, Illinois, was one of the nine children of John Louis GILLY and Elizabeth HARTUNG GILLY.

At the age of 21 years he moved to Hebron Nebr., where on May 3, 1883, he was united in marriage to Mary Barbara JORDAN and on May 3, 1035 (sic) they celebrated their 52nd wedding anniversary in Fairfield. In May, 1893, he moved with his wife and three children to Brighton, Ia. While a resident of Brighton he supervised his farm and also ran a harness shop. September 4, 1900, he with his family located in Fairfield, where he resided for 35 years. In April, 1902, he purchased the home at 500 North Main street, in which he resided till his passing away at 12:05 oclock in the morning of July 27 1935, being 75 years, 6 months and 13 days old.

During his residence in Fairfield he operated a meat market, and for some years, The Home Roller Mills, both in New Chicago, and served as Street Commssioner for 4 years, also supervising his farm at Perlee, Iowa.

He was reared and confirmed in the Lutheran faith, but has been a faithful member of the Methodist church for forty-two years. He was a loving and kind husband, and very affectionate father, entirely devoted to his family. He is survived by his wife and three children, Mrs. R. H. MUNRO and Miss Alethea GILLY of Fairfield, and Louis W. GILLY of Pasadena, Calif., also by the following grandchildren, Charles L. GILLY, Mary Roberta, and Dorothy Ione MUNRO, all of Fairfield, and by the following brothers and sisters, Mrs. Anna HARTUNG of Chicago, Ill., Miss Carolina GILLY, Mrs. Matilda RIEKE, and Mr. Henry GILLY of Barrington, Ill., Mr. John GILLY and Mr. Daniel C. GILLY of Elgin, Ill., one sister and brother preceding him in death.

... Due to the heavy rain Sunday night the Edd CRILE family were unable to reach Fairfield in time for the funeral of Mrs. CRILE's uncle, C. T. (sic - C. J.) GILLY, which was held at 10:00 a.m.
