Juliana HACKETT

Juliana "Julie" V. Hackett, 82, of 910 S. Main Place, died at 7:42 p.m. Monday, Aug. 29, 2005, at Jefferson County Hospital.

The funeral is scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday at Raymond Funeral Home, with the Rev. Richard Wallarab officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

Family will receive friends from 4-6 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Memorials have been established to Fairfield Public Library or Jefferson County Hospital.

Mrs. HACKETT was born Oct. 19, 1922, in Philadelphia, Pa., the daughter of Earl Raymond and Anne LEWIS VAN VLIET. She married Lt. Col. Wallace J. HACKETT July 14, 1942, at Scarsdale, N.Y. He died Oct. 26, 1992.

She graduated from Rogers Hall School in 1940. She met her husband when he was a cadet at West Point Military Academy. The couple moved to Fairfield in the early 1960s, when he was a professor at Parsons College.

Mrs. HACKETT was a homemaker and had worked at the Treasure House in Fairfield.

Mrs. HACKETT was of the Episcopal faith. She also was a member of P.E.O. Chapter MB, Fairfield Golf & Country Club, ABRACADABRA, Jefferson County Hospital Auxiliary and two bridge clubs. She was named an annual Jaycee Outstanding Project Chairman of the Year for her efforts as co-founder of the Bargain Box for Jefferson County Hospital Auxiliary.

Survivors include one daughter, Patricia L. AUBIN of North Andover, Mass.; two sons, P. Van Vliet HACKETT of Bridgewater, Va., and Stephen W. HACKETT of Plant City, Fla.; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents.
